Veteran Owned Small Business recognized for a unique and  innovative Football Virtual Reality headset

Orlando, Fla. (January 30, 2019) – Orlando-based Serious Simulations’ Football VR Training Headset was selected as one of the top designs of any electronic product in the world.  This marks the second time that the company has received this prestigious award for one of its unique Virtual Reality headset designs.

The headset is designed specifically for elite level football players at the professional and college levels to use Virtual Reality simulators to augment live training.

The headset was the result of a design partnership with Peter Solomon Design, but the technology is proprietary to Serious Simulations. It builds upon the company’s industry unique approach in the design of wireless, extremely wide field of view, high resolution head mounted displays for virtual reality.

“We are very proud of the headset design, from an engineering perspective, as well as how it enhances the Virtual Reality experience,” said Christopher Chambers, CEO, Serious Simulations.  “The enabling of human peripheral vision in the virtual experience is key to accomplishing realistic training for elite sports athletes, and the low latency wireless package allows complete athletic freedom of movement in the simulator.”

For more than six decades, the GOOD DESIGN Award, given annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press, has showcased the best industrial, product and graphic design from around the world.

Other winners this year include major electronics manufacturers Apple, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, Google, and Logitech.
