ORLANDO, Florida, USA – Serious Simulations LLC announced today that it has begun work for the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, Simulation and Training Technology Center (US ARL STTC) and University of Central Florida’s Institute for Simulation and Training (UCF IST) in Orlando Florida. The one year contract specifies a number of tasks in support of on-going work in developing realistic next generation augmented reality training systems for individual soldiers.
Serious Simulations will bring to the project some unique capabilities in the areas of wireless data transmission, remote data sensing of weapon functions, electronic hardware design, and the use of real weapons in simulators. The contract with US ARL STTC and UCF IST represents the first opportunity the company has had to work officially with both organizations.

It currently holds a portfolio of five patents in simulation and Virtual Reality technologies. Two patents were filed in the last year in the vital area of wireless video transmission for Virtual and Augmented Reality displays, intended for both professional training and entertainment applications.
